Fools At Alton High

Mark your schedule on Feb. 20 through Feb. 22 to attend Alton High School’s winter play, Fools. Fools is a comic fable by Neil Simon. The play starts at 7:00 pm in the AHS auditorium; tickets are $8 at the door.

The play Fools is about a village who has been overtaken by a witch named Gregor who put a spell on them and now it’s up to Leon, a schoolmaster from a few countries to teach the village and overturn Gregor’s spell. Gabe Levi will be playing as Leon, which is the lead role.

“My character Leon is on every page of the script, which is every scene so it can be daunting and overwhelming,” said Levi.

Although there are challenges that come with the lead role Levi still connects with the audience. “My part is to bring the comedy and act as sort of a real-world connection to the audience and the characters,” said Levi.

Simon Harper will be playing as Gregor, a warlock figure who is the main villain. “I have a lot of fun with my role, I play the villain who is kind of a warlock wizardry type guy, so I just have a lot of fun doing that,” said Harper.
