  • FINALS
  • Textbooks are due on or before the day of the final exam.
  • Students who do not have a final exam must leave campus or report to the cafeteria or library for supervision.
  • Students are not permitted to be in the hallways while final exams are in session. No passes are to be issued during final exams.
  • No lunches will be served on final exam days. Breakfast will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:40 a.m.
  • Attendance is mandatory for all students during the hour their exam is scheduled.
  • FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE:
  • DAY 1 Wednesday, December 19, 2018
  • Period 1 8:45 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
  • Period 2 10:05 a.m. – 11:20 a.m.
  • DAY 2 Thursday, December 20, 2018
  • Period 3 8:45 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
  • Period 4 10:05 a.m. – 11:20 a.m.
  • DAY 3 Friday, December 21, 2018

  • If there is a chance of inclement weather around the time of final exams, a decision to adjust the final exam schedule will be announced.

  • Alton High is planning a trip for June 2020 to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, visit koalas, platypus and kangaroos in the wild, dance with aborigines, hike through the outback and glimpse salt water crocodiles in their native habitat.  See Mrs. Laaker (B307)or Mrs. Smith (guidance) for more information on reserving your spot and fundraising.
  • Southwestern Conference Art Exhibit
  • ALTON HIGH ART STUDENTS RECENTLY PARTICIPATED IN THE SOUTHWESTERN CONFERENCE ART EXHIBIT…HERE ARE THE RESULTS
  • First Place: Erin Hillery She took home the top prize for the entire event, this is the first time in AHS history that an AHS student received the individual first place award.
  • Honorable Mention:  Nigel Hilgert
  • Participants: Morgan Cochran and Jenna Hand
  • Overall Score: 2nd Place Alton High School
  • The show runs until December 28, 2018 at the EAC if you would like to view the artworks and show.

  • Bio Club is holding a fundraiser for 5A’s animal shelter. Anything you can bring pet wise will help, but dog food and cat food are mainly needed. Come and donate today through next Friday, December 14th. Bring donations to Mrs.Laakers room, 307
  • The Redbird Store will be selling Christmas sugar cookies for $1. Come and buy this limited-edition cookie!
  • Alton FFA Chapter competed at the Section 15 Dairy Foods Career Development Event at Southwestern High School on Thursday, November 19th. Cornal Harris (President), Emily Carter (Secretary), Katelynn Budde, and Olivia Scifres were on the Varsity team. Cece Erler (Freshman) competed as an individual Greenhand. At the contest, student tested their skills and knowledge in six areas: Written Content Exam, Millk Defects, Cheese ID, Dairy and Non-Dairy ID, California Mastitis Test, and Team Problem. Both teams placed 7th, with 12 schools and 150 FFA members present. Congratulations Alton FFA!

  • BOYS BASKETBALL GOT BACK ON THE COURT AND USED A 20-0 START TO DEFEAT THE O’FALLON PANTHERS 71-42…THEIR RECORD NOW STANDS AT 3-3
  • THE GIRLS ALSO PLAYED O’FALLON BUT FELL 56-49…THIER RECORD NOW STANDS 2-4
  • THE BOYS AND GIRLS BOWLING TEAMS BOTH LOST TO THE BELLEVILLE EAST LANCERS
  • ATHLETE OF THE MONTH
  • Congratulations to Alton High School senior Hannah Macias on being named Chris Erwin -State Farm Agent Scholar Athlete of the Week. Hannah is now eligible to earn a $1000 scholarship at the end of the academic school year courtesy State Farm Agent Chris Erwin and the Big Z!
